Below are some of our most frequently asked questions. If your question is not answered here, please contact us via phone, email, text, or the contact form here online.
1. "How often should my windows and gutters be cleaned?"
This question is really best answered by you and how often you would like them cleaned. Some like their windows
cleaned bi-monthly, while others like them cleaned monthly, and yet others are okay with twice a year. Keep in mind
the longer time between cleaning may require more work to clean sediment and stains, which increases the price of
the service. There is no exact answer. Gutters should be cleaned semi-annually to protect the home and landscape
from damage.
2. "We get a lot of rain in the Pacific Northwest, doesn't the rain wash the windows, why would I need to hire you if Mother Nature is already doing a great job?"
Actually, you want to hire a professional because, although Mother Nature does share a lot of rain with us, she does
not clean the glass as it should be cleaned. When windows are not cleaned, rain water simply moves the dirt around on the
window, it does not wash it off the window.
3. "Are you able to remove hard water stains from my windows?"
Unfortunately, no. Hard water stains are caused by water containing minerals like calcium, magnesium, metal cations
and compounds like sulfates and bicarbonates. Hard water, if left untreated, can at times be impossible to remove, and
often require glass replacement. To avoid future hard water stains from forming on your windows, it is important
to have your windows professionally cleaned on a regular basis. Check out our Oregon Pure Shine clubs to find out how
you can save on your window cleaning.
4. "Do you offer discounts for Seniors, Active Military, Veterans, Police, or Firefighters?"
YES! Unlike a lot of other companies, we honor those in service, or those who have served by offering a 5%
discount on services. This cannot, however, be combined with any other discount or special we have running.
5. "Who owns the company, and who will be coming to my house?"
We are locally owned and operated family business. Joe owns the company, and is supported
in the office from his wife, Samantha, and his mother, Tina. Joe always is the lead technician window detail-er
and gutter cleaner.
6. "You cleaned my windows, but when it rained they appeared dirty again, why?"
Unfortunately, this does happen. Rain, dirty siding and gutters, all play a part in how quickly your windows will appear
dirty again. We recommend you have your gutters cleaned twice a year prior to window cleaning, and if your home
exterior has not been cleaned, at least, annually, then we suggest cleaning it. Rain will splash after hitting the gutters
and siding moving that dirt to your window which will give the appearance of a dirty window.
7. "What is a standard window size anyway? Is this a single hung or double hung window?"
There is no "right" answer, but we do have an answer for this question. For the purposes of our special rate pricing, we see
a standard window size as single hung window and is a width from18 inches to 48 inches and a height from 18 inches to 36 inches.
Anything smaller is considered one standard window, regardless of the size. Sizes over this range, are not considered "standard"
and will incur additional fees.
